In his famous collection 'Leaves of Grass', Walt Whitman wrote a poem about Montauk, where his contemplation led him to quote these few words 'Nothing, but sea and sky'. In Montauk, also called The End, the world stops in winter. The sky is veiled in a white pallor and the breath of the blizzard sprinkles the beach with snowflakes. The rough sea gives the impression of making a large cotton field bloom.
