HISTORY OF KAMS PARIS

Founded in 1960, KAMS PARIS is a luxury duty free concept store located just a 2-minute walk from the prestigious Palais Royal and Garnier Opéra, offering a unique shopping experience for international travelers and local customers.

Since its creation in 1960, our house KAMS PARIS has undergone significant evolution. It has experienced periods of growth, change and adaptation to market developments.

 

Period 1 : 1826 - 1960

Our store was a duty free store of the famous perfume brand "Gellé Frères". The family brand, heir to the formulas created by Jean Louis Fargeon, Master Perfumer of Marie Antoinette, has survived through the centuries since 1826, honoring the beauty of queens.

The concept of the boutique was unique, combining a tea room with the discovery of perfumes. Customers could thus taste tea while exploring the fragrances offered.

Period 2: 1960 - 1985

In the early 1960s, at 6 Avenue de l'Opéra in Paris, KAMS PARIS began its unique and historic commercial journey. Founded by the determined and passionate entrepreneur, Mr. Kaminsky, a true visionary. It is thanks to his innovative spirit and his passion for beauty that the KAMS PARIS company was born. The very name of the company, KAMS PARIS, is a tribute to this bold and pioneering innovator.

KAMS PARIS has quickly become the favorite place for beauty experts and aesthetic enthusiasts. Offering a careful selection of products ranging from perfumes to makeup products, skin care and fashion accessories, KAMS PARIS stands out for its excellence and timeless elegance.

 

Period 3 : 19 85 - 2015

The legend of the KAMS PARIS company was continued in 1985 by a charming and unique businesswoman, Toshiko VARDENI. Under his leadership, KAMS PARIS experienced 25 brilliant years. During this period, thanks to the enthusiastic influx of Japanese tourists, the shop flourished.

From 2010 to 2016 was a tumultuous and demanding period in the history of the KAMS PARIS company. During this period, the company has faced multiple challenges and changes, having to cope with an ever-changing market environment and changing customer demands.

Initially, the business welcomed a significant number of Japanese tourists, which led to significant performance growth and commercial success for the KAMS PARIS duty free store. However, over time, the number of Japanese tourists gradually declined, and the arrival of Chinese tourists became a new business opportunity.

Unfortunately, in 2015, Paris was the scene of devastating terrorist attacks, causing a huge impact on the tourism industry as a whole. This directly affected KAMS PARIS operations.

 

Period 4 : 2016 - 2023


In 2016, Mr. Frédéric HU acquired the company KAMS PARIS. Aware of the proximity of this store to the famous Palais Royal and Louvre Museum in Paris, he decided to change the name of the brand to "PARIS LOUVRE", in order to attract visitors from all over the world.

Frédéric's ambition is to restore the luxury boutique's vocation as a perfume specialist. He particularly wants to create a range of niche European perfumes. Its objective is to offer rare perfumes that stand out on the market.

 

Period 4 : 2024 - today

Since the start of 2024, our store has returned to its original name "KAMS PARIS", marking the start of a new chapter in our history as a brand. This transition represents our commitment to establishing our own identity as a concept store.
